The Position

Reporting to the Director of Athletics and Head Men’s Soccer Coach, this part time non-benefitted position is responsible for assisting in all facets of our soccer programs. In addition to soccer technique and tactics teaching/coaching, duties include development of student-athletes and recruitment.

Key Responsibilities :

• Assists the head coach in the college’s efforts to foster the athletic development of student-athletes within our soccer programs.

o Individual, small group and team skills training

o Individual, small group and team tactics teaching/coaching

• Assists the head coach in the college’s efforts to foster the academic success of student-athletes within the program.

o Meets with student-athletes individually to insure academic accountability

o Provides counsel to help student-athletes navigate the rigors of collegiate academic work

o Develops and articulates a working knowledge of on and on campus support services available

• Assists the head coach in the college’s efforts to foster the personal growth of student-athletes within each program.

o Develops and articulates a working knowledge of on and on campus student-health support services available

o Meets with student-athletes on an as needed basis

• Assists the head coach in executing an active college community relations program leading to the positive promotion of each soccer program and their respective student athletes.
• Represents the Department and Student Affairs Division in the College Community, developing relationships conducive to program and departmental success.
• Participates in our efforts to recruit qualified student-athletes for our soccer programs.
• Serves as a manager for selected athletic events.
• Carries out other duties as assigned by the Head soccer Coach and/or the Director of Athletics.

Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities :

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• One to three years of intercollegiate participation or coaching experience at an NCAA sponsored institution.
• CPR certified preferred.
