Job Description

As King's Seafood Company continues to evolve, change, and grow, we have a need for a Communication Specialist. The Communications Specialist is responsible for developing written content for print and digital channels to support King's Seafood Company and its brands. This includes written content in crewmember-facing and Guest-facing channels, such as written blog, email, web, newsletters, presentations and collateral, to support initiatives, promotional activations, seasonal campaigns, remodels and new restaurant openings in order to deepen brand affinity, acquire and engage Guests and strengthen our brand's presence in key markets. Working with and creating written materials are the primary responsibilities of this position. To be successful in this position, you should love to write.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop clear, engaging , on- brand copy to support evergreen marketing communications initiatives, seasonal activations, holiday campaigns, gift card programs and promotional events. 
  • Bring project requirements and communications objectives to life with engaging copy options that communicate each brand's voice from the inside out- emotionally. not transactionally- in story driven architecture.
  • Develop weekly blog content that is engineered to acquire and engage Guests. Research topics and interview subject matter experts to develop content that aligns with the brand, help readers find or solve a need and champions their interests.
  • Elevate our Guest -focus by creating ongoing email campaigns that are scalable, repeatable, targeted, personalized and localized, leveraging blog content and seasonal happenings to increase their engagement, preference and emotional connection to our brand. 
  • Align and optimize blog development with email marketing cadences, ensuring timely development and delivery of content across all print and digital vehicles, including websites, blog, email and social. 
  • Write and refresh seasonal messages and scripts to support each restaurant, including phone hold and chit messages.
  • Increase crewmember awareness, engagement and clarity through content development and editing of the internal newsletters, training materials, presentations and intranet content. 
  • Edit and proofread all internal and Guest- facing communications, guaranteeing that copy is error free and aligned with style guidelines. 
  • Utilize SEO best practices in developing and optimizing website and blog copy to acquire Guests organically and convert them to our email list.
  • Develop and optimize email welcome series for each brand.
  • Support the development and implementation of copy for new restaurant openings and remodels - from pre-open to post-open marketing material support.
  • Report on performance monthly and quarterly, including blog articles and email campaigns, identifying learnings and capitalizing on opportunities. 

SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE

  • 1+years of experience in writing and adapting copy for multiple channels and audiences
  • College degree in public relations, journalism or related field
  • Knowledge of AP Style Guidelines 
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Collaborative spirit and strong desire for feedback
  • Ability to think strategically and innovate in established and new mediums
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize
  • Understanding of visual design fundamentals, including savviness in PowerPoint
  • Understanding of digital tools and platforms. including websites, social media and email
