Job Description

Acara Solutions is seeking an experienced Component Design Engineer to support turbo machinery programs with a leading company in the automotive manufacturing industry 

Location: Indianapolis, IN
Pay: $59.00/hour

Schedule: First shift Monday – Friday

Hybrid Work : 3 days a week onsite 

Contract: 12 months

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop gas turbine components and subsystems, including requirements capture, trade studies, and performance optimization.
• Conduct mechanical, thermal, vibration, and durability analyses to ensure reliability and lifecycle integrity.
• Create and manage detailed design definitions—CAD models, drawings, GD&T, and tolerance stacks.
• Support manufacturing and supply chain activities: review supplier documentation, resolve nonconforming hardware, and manage design changes.
• Lead failure investigations and implement corrective design actions.
• Collaborate across engineering disciplines (systems, aerothermal, materials, manufacturing, testing) and present design solutions to leadership.
• Ensure adherence to engineering standards, safety regulations, and industry best practices.

Job Requirements

Required Skills / Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree
• Minimum of 5 years of Gas Turbine Experience
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Engineering/ Aerospace Designs
