Job Description

Description We are looking for an experienced Controller, with extensive non-profit experience, to join our team on a contract basis in Irvine, California. This role is ideal for a skilled financial expert who thrives in fast-paced, dynamic environments and is passionate about improving processes and implementing robust internal controls. You will play a crucial role in managing financial operations, enhancing reporting accuracy, and supporting the organization's mission. Responsibilities: - Evaluate current financial processes and systems, identifying areas for improvement and implementing efficient workflows. - Establish and enforce internal controls to ensure compliance with financial regulations. - Streamline and reconcile financial statements, addressing discrepancies and ensuring accurate reporting. - Manage grant acceptance processes, ensuring compliance with funding requirements. - Provide strategic recommendations for optimizing cash flow and fund allocation. - Oversee financial reconciliations, ensuring accuracy in accounts and general ledger entries. - Prepare monthly financial reports and deliver insights to stakeholders. - Utilize QuickBooks Online and NetSuite to manage accounting and reporting functions. - Collaborate with the CPA firm to align on financial strategies and proposals. - Leverage expertise in fund accounting and pledge management to support non-profit operations. Requirements - Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and NetSuite accounting software. - Strong background in fund accounting, particularly for non-profit organizations. - Demonstrated experience with financial reconciliations and general ledger management. - In-depth knowledge of financial reporting and cash flow forecasting. - Familiarity with grant management processes and pledge tracking. - CPA certification is preferred, though not required. - Proven ability to implement internal controls and improve operational processes. - Excellent analytical and communication skills to provide actionable financial insights.
