Job Description

Charlotte’s Best Nanny Agency is assisting a family in the Lansdowne Neighborhood of South Charlotte in finding a Full-Time Nanny for their two children, ages 3 years old and 7 months old. The nanny would typically be needed Monday through Friday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, with some flexibility, as Mom’s work schedule can flex. Prior notice would be given for any schedule changes. The nanny must also be willing to travel with the family, primarily on domestic trips.

The best nanny for this family would be experienced in caring for both infants and toddlers and be kind, dependable, organized, and comfortable with a dog in the home. This role calls for a professional who can foster a nurturing and educational environment while supporting the family’s established daily routines. Familiarity with developmental milestones is essential, along with the ability to encourage growth and age-appropriate development through engaging activities at home and in the community.

The three-year-old attends preschool on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. While the mother handles drop-off, the nanny will be responsible for preschool pick-up on those days.

An active and engaging approach is encouraged, including taking the children on strolls, reading books, playing with toys, singing, and supporting developmental activities. The nanny will also be encouraged to take the children out in the community to age-appropriate activities such as library story time, Music Together classes, local parks, children’s museums, and other enriching activities. The mother occasionally works from home, so the nanny should be comfortable with a parent working remotely.

Nanny Responsibilities Include:

  • Meeting daily scheduling needs of the children (Feeding, Changing, Napping)

  • Engaging with the children on an age-appropriate level

  • Playing with the children both inside and outside the home

  • Doing hands-on learning activities with the children

  • Taking the children out in the community to age-appropriate activities

Household Duties Include (Children are first priority):

  • Children's laundry and changing the children's sheets weekly

  • Children’s meal prep

  • Unloading/loading dishwasher and sanitizing bottles

  • Sanitizing toys and frequently used surfaces by the children

  • Picking up after the nanny and the children throughout the day

  • Stocking Diapers and emptying the diaper pail

Pets: The family has a Pit/Lab mix, so the nanny would need to love dogs and not be allergic. The nanny would be required to let him out in the fenced-in backyard to go to the bathroom as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Have at least 3 years of professional nanny experience

  • Have a college degree or equivalent experience

  • Have a professional resume

  • Fill out a complete online application

  • Pass a pre-screening interview with Charlotte’s Best Nanny Agency

  • Pass a national background check, including a driving record check

  • Have a valid driver’s license

  • Have safe and reliable transportation

  • Have a minimum of three professional references

  • Be non-smoking/vaping

  • CPR and First Aid Certified

  • Nanny should be fluent in English; any additional languages are a plus

  • Must be up to date on vaccinations, including childhood vaccines and the annual flu shot.

Start Date, Salary, and Benefits:

  • This position starts between January and the end of February 2026

  • Legal pay is offered at $28.00 - $30.00 an hour, negotiable depending on experience

  • Continued pay while the family is away

  • Two weeks of paid time off

  • 3 Paid Sick Days

  • Paid Major Holidays

  • Paid Mileage for driving on the Job

  • Annual performance-based bonus
