Job Description

As a Janitorial Day Porter, you will play a key role in maintaining the appearance and hygiene of all common areas, restrooms, and building entrances throughout the day. This position is ideal for individuals who are detail-oriented, take pride in their work, and enjoy contributing to a positive and professional atmosphere.

Responsibilities

• Regularly inspect and maintain cleanliness in lobbies, common areas, stairwells, elevators, corridors, and break areas.
• Check and restock restroom facilities before and after shift changes; replenish supplies as needed.
• Empty trash receptacles in front entrances and restrooms on a routine basis.
• Spot clean interior and exterior glass at building entrances and ensure these areas remain tidy.
• Inspect and remove litter from the building’s exterior perimeter daily.
• Implement safety procedures during inclement weather, such as placing wet floor signs and matting.
• Respond to special requests from management, including assisting with maintenance, setting up meeting rooms, or cleaning up spills.
• Clean and maintain breakrooms and meeting rooms as needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, bending, and lifting as required for cleaning duties.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high standards of cleanliness and safety.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work well with building occupants and management.
• Flexibility to handle special requests and adapt to changing priorities during the workday.
• Reliability and punctuality are essential.
