Senior Database Administrator – PostgreSQL 📍 Richfield, OH | $55–$60/hr | Temp-to-Perm
We’re seeking an experienced PostgreSQL DBA to support database operations in a fast-paced, open-source environment (primarily RHEL). This is a temp-to-perm opportunity working across PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server, and other open-source systems.
🔧 Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain PostgreSQL databases
- Monitor performance and optimize queries
- Manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures
- Ensure database security and integrity
- Collaborate with developers on schema design, indexing, and stored procedures
- Support upgrades, migrations, and capacity planning
- Troubleshoot and resolve database issues
- Document procedures and configurations
✅ Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience as a PostgreSQL DBA
- Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL architecture and tuning
- Proficiency with backup/recovery strategies and query optimization
- Experience in open-source/Linux environments (especially RHEL)
- Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python)
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Bachelor's degree in CS, IT, or related field (preferred)
