Job Description

Our client, a global pharmaceutical company, is looking for a Structural Chemist to join their team! This will be an onsite role working out of their office in Ridgefield. The successful candidate will apply excellent laboratory practices, possess advanced written and verbal communication skills, and are highly analytical. Please no corp-to-corp applicants or third-party agencies. Sub-contracted candidates or candidates that require immediate sponsorship cannot be considered.

Role Overview:

• Contract Role: 12 months
• Pay: $45-50/hr on W2
• Schedule: Fully onsite, standard shift, 40 hours per week

Responsibilities:

• Acquire and interpret (1D and 2D 1H, 19F, 13C, 15N, etc.) data for molecular structure elucidation
• Characterize pharmaceutical materials to guide drug substance and drug product development
• Evaluate and characterize a broad range of materials
• Measure components of APIs and drug products by applying quantitative ssNMR methods
• Write protocols, methods and technical reports; provide scientific interpretation of results
• Present at internal scientific meetings.

Required Qualifications:

• Master's Degree in Organic Chemistry or equivalent
• 1-3 year of experience in the application of ssNMR Spectroscopy
• Background in use of solution NMR for structure elucidation
• Familiarity with solid-state NMR sample preparation
• Experience troubleshooting ssNMR experiments
• Exposure to changing Bruker ssNMR probes
• Knowledge of molecular modeling software (Gaussian, Schrodinger, Materials Studio suite, CCDC software)
