A Brand New 24-hour Crisis Receiving Stabilization Center is seeking an experienced Supervising Psychiatric Advanced Practice Nurse (PMHNP) to provide psychiatric evaluation, medication management, and clinical oversight within a fast-paced crisis setting serving adults experiencing acute mental health emergencies.
This role combines direct clinical care with nursing supervision and requires strong judgment, leadership, and experience working with high-acuity and co-occurring populations .
Conduct psychiatric evaluations and ongoing assessments for adults in crisis
Diagnose and treat individuals with mental health, substance use, and co-occurring disorders
Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, including MAT where appropriate
Develop and adjust individualized treatment plans
Provide medication education and psychoeducation
Order and interpret diagnostic tests
Complete timely documentation within the electronic health record
Provide clinical supervision and guidance to RN staff
Collaborate closely with an on-site or designated psychiatrist
Participate in team meetings, trainings, and quality improvement activities
Master’s degree in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing
ANCC-certified PMHNP
Active New Jersey RN & APN license in good standing
Minimum 2 years of experience in community behavioral health, crisis, inpatient psych, or emergency psychiatric settings
Experience with co-occurring disorders and high-acuity populations strongly preferred
Comfortable working in a crisis stabilization environment
Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills
Collaborative, calm, and solutions-oriented
Experienced in supervising or mentoring nursing staff
