Role Overview:

Our Ideal Candidate:
We are seeking a passionate and reflective Physical Education teacher certified to teach grades K–12. The ideal candidate will promote physical literacy, healthy habits, and lifelong fitness through engaging, developmentally appropriate instruction. This educator will inspire students to build confidence, teamwork, and resilience through movement and sport.

The right educator will:

• Create dynamic lessons that promote physical fitness, motor skills development, and healthy lifestyle choices.
• Foster teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth through individual and group activities.
• Encourage perseverance, self-discipline, and a love for physical activity.
• Thrive in flexible environments and collaborate with families to support student wellness and growth.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver physical education instruction aligned with state standards and school curriculum.
• Implement age-appropriate activities that support physical, social, and emotional development.
• Adapt lessons to meet the diverse needs and abilities of students across grade levels.
• Use assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
• Collaborate with families and staff to promote wellness and physical activity beyond the classroom.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive, and motivating learning environment.

Qualifications:

Knowledge / Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education or related field (Master’s preferred).
• Must hold valid Florida Teacher Certification in Physical Education K–12 OR a Temporary Florida Teaching Certificate with an agreement to complete requirements for full Florida Educator Certification in Physical Education within three years of employment start date.
• Minimum of 3 years of teaching or coaching experience preferred.
• Strong background in physical education, fitness, and health instruction.
• Experience with individualized and inclusive teaching approaches.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Driven, reflective learner with a growth mindset 
• Must have empathy for students and enthusiasm for developing personalized, one-to-one learning relationships
