Chazuné is a French–Japanese inspired concept that blends savoir-faire with modern tea culture. From artisanal matcha beverages to French fusion pastries and baked goods, we create experiences rooted in elegance and craft. We’re launching our ghost kitchen operations in New York and are seeking dedicated Prep Cooks to support our team.
Position OverviewThe Prep Cook will assist the Head Cook with daily kitchen operations, focusing on prep, baking, beverage execution, and maintaining a clean, compliant workspace. This is a hands-on role ideal for a cook with strong fundamentals and interest in both French fusion and specialty beverages.
ResponsibilitiesSupport the Head Cook in preparing menu items, including pastries, baked goods, and French fusion dishes
Assist with matcha and specialty beverage preparation following recipes
Handle daily prep work: washing, cutting, portioning, and organizing ingredients
Maintain kitchen cleanliness and sanitation in line with DOHMH standards
Properly store ingredients and rotate stock to ensure freshness
Operate kitchen equipment safely and correctly
Assist with packaging and order assembly as needed
Minimum 1–2 years of professional kitchen experience (bakery, café, or commissary experience a plus)
Strong basic skills in baking, pastry prep, or savory cooking
NYC Food Handler’s Certificate (or willingness to obtain within 30 days)
Ability to work efficiently, follow directions, and maintain consistency
Team player with a positive attitude and attention to detail
$18–$22/hr , depending on experience and certifications
Flexible scheduling (alternating shifts with the Head Cook)
