IT Help Desk Specialist

Part Time | Remote (Metro Atlanta, GA Based) | ~20 Hours/Week

Smith & Carson, a trusted investigative research firm, is hiring a part-time remote IT Help Desk Specialist to support our workforce. This is an excellent opportunity for a tech-savvy problem solver who enjoys helping people and keeping systems running smoothly — with flexibility to work during business hours and occasional visits to our Atlanta office.

About the Role

You'll be responsible for supporting approximately 65 users (mostly remote workers) by providing Windows desktop support, troubleshooting hardware/software issues, managing MS Office and Google Workspace accounts, and assisting with A/V equipment and inventory. This role is ideal for someone who is self-directed, organized, and service-oriented.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide remote desktop support to Windows laptop users
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, printer, and connectivity issues
• Support Microsoft Office and Google Workspace platforms
• Assist with A/V equipment setup and problem-solving
• Maintain accurate inventory of IT hardware/software
• Occasionally report onsite to our corporate office in Alpharetta

Requirements:

• 2+ years of Windows desktop support experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
• Familiarity with AWS environments is a plus
• A/V equipment troubleshooting experience
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Based in Metro Atlanta with the ability to occasionally visit corporate office

Schedule:

• Approximately 20 hours per week
• Flexible work hours, need to be available during standard business hours (Monday-Friday ET)
• Primarily remote, with occasional in-person support at our Atlanta office
